The Winguitsuiter

A task on our learning contract was to write a moment in time about this a man in a winguit going down a mountain here is mine:

I was on top of a mountain nervous as a kid starting school. I took a deep breathe I jumped down I felt my heart pound feeling like a shark following me. I saw the trees shaking like a man in Antarctica. All I could taste was fresh breeze and all I could see was a long trail of limestone. I here rocks crashing into each other and birds singing in the evergreen trees I feel me going at the speed of light smash I dodged a dodged a flying rock. I see the end in sight metres away from the ground zoom my parachute redeploys I'm back on home soil.

My Happy Holiday

In the holidays me and my family went on a fun adventure to Christchurch. The reasons we went there was because we thought it will be fun to go on a adventure and see family. I've been to Christchurch before but we went on a different route via east coast when we arrived in Auckland I felt a sigh of relieve all we have to do is catch a flight to Christchurch and were there. We stayed the night at my cousins and of we go we at the airport boarding our plane before I knew it we were at our destination Christchurch we had some fun experiences I went to see family I hardy see and we went alpine skiing in the mountain ranges. We were up in the ski lift about to hop off and go I hopped off and then waited for my family and then were of skiing down. It was a strange sport I kept on falling over and going down in a strange position but I eventually got the hang of it. Then we went back up at Auckland we stayed the night at my cousins again then back home those were the main highlights in my holidays but I also was gaming with my friends and those were my holidays.

Making Adjustments

In the Kakapo class we have been learning about how put a solution to help the animals in the oceans to survive in the great pacific garbage patch we started by reading a powerful book that guided us to research, we all watched a video about sustainability which had a powerful message. The great pacific garbage patch is a place where heaps of over 1.8 trillion pieces rubbish is it is located at the coast of California wraps around to Japan then around and it is twice the size of Texas the biggest state of America.

In Kakapo we adjusted one part of our contract so that we can write a letter to the big businesses to make a change to their use of items that they sell for example were looking at mcdonalds probably the biggest fast food chain in New Zealand to use sustainable products currently their using plastic straws and plastic cups which is not Eco friendly.

Tropical

This week we were making birds, not normal birds, birds from the rainforest.  We did them from the rain forest because we learning about them. Firstly we had to find foliage from the rain forest to set as the back round mine is the Epipendola aureum , after we found the background we started to sketch out the foliage on the published paper when given the all clear we started using wax crayons we did some parts dark and some parts dark to add a good effect then we used dye to fill in the background after that we found a bird mine is the Oropendola the same process  as the bird but we cut it out and from the cuttings and 3D it, also we did some research I worked with Ricardo and Hiroshi I wrote the information and did some detail

Freedom

About 2/5 months ago we entered our covid 19 lock down.  There has been 1504 cases in New Zealand the current events that have happened has been a shock but we dealed it well 1 time it was 87 cases but now its almost the 3rd week in the row with no cases and there are no active cases in New Zealand . Level 4 started on the 26 of March to 27 of April level 3 28 of April to 13 May level 2 14 of May to 8 of June and now level 1. So there is no same old same old social distancing it will be good to continue hygiene but not as often and finally restaurants are now serving indoors. It feels good because we can start reviving the economy and it starts our way to level 0 which is good.

Livin in lockdown

During the period of New Zealand's lock down weve been active in our learning online and books.
My daily routine is wake up for breakfast do half and hour exercise then go to the school hangout where we can keep up with the class and recap on our learning and then I do my assigned school work then the rest for the day is helping, device time and outside time.

Our school work is fun and enjoyable we have to prioritise the most important tasks are the ones we need to complete first.
